About

I'm Krystian, a Senior Product Designer in Los Angeles. Most of my work lives in checkout, monetization, and purchase flows, the parts of a product where a design decision shows up on the revenue line. Right now I'm at AXS, working on a live event ticketing platform that sees 14M+ daily visits.

How I work is pretty simple: research to figure out what's actually going on, ship something, then let the data tell me whether I was right. I like being wrong early and fixing it fast. The projects I'm proudest of are the ones that helped users and moved a real number at the same time.

I do my best work sitting close to engineering and product, in the room for the tradeoffs rather than at the handoff. The best product decisions I've been part of came out of that closeness, someone catching a constraint early, a scope call made together before it turned into rework.

Outside of work you'll find me on my yoga mat, planning a trip I may or may not actually take, catching something at AMC, or hanging out with my dog.

How I Work

Funnel as a system

I look at checkout, add-ons, and pricing as one connected surface instead of separate screens. The add-on architecture I built at AXS works because it slots into the purchase flow rather than sitting next to it, and clients configure it themselves without new design work.

Designs as hypotheses

I ship into experiments. On checkout I built the test framework and set success metrics with our PM, then kept running multivariate rounds on placement, pricing display, and sequencing. I own the UX metrics. Our PM and data scientist own the business ones.

Close to engineering

My first checkout concept was too minimal and engineering told me so. They were right, and progressive disclosure came out of that conversation. I'd rather be in the room for the tradeoff than hand off and find out later.

Leading without the title

I lead design for mid and lower funnel at AXS. That means setting direction, managing stakeholders on behalf of another designer, and making the scope calls, without a management title attached to it.
